Course Brief

This 1-day course is designed as a comprehensive guide to valve actuators. Engineers and technicians attending will gain an invaluable insight into the characteristics of the many different actuator types, the principles of selection of and matching an actuator with a valve, a knowledge of the various actuator accessories, and 'intelligent' and automatic control actuators.

  • Gain a greater awareness of the diverse types and operating characteristics of valve actuators.
  • Be able to select and specify the correct actuator for a given application.
  • A detailed understanding of the need to match an actuator with a valve.
  • The opportunity to discuss with the lecturer specific valve problems or issues.

This course is aimed at individuals who wish to increase their knowledge on the selection and use of valve actuators. It is also suitable for engineers and technicians who wish to re-introduce themselves to the subject

  • Follow Hennef way to the Tesco roundabout
  • At that roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Southam Road  (A423)

For the last 31 years Graeme has worked for Rotork, one of the leading actuator manufacturing companies in the world. He joined as a service engineer travelling extensively into many process industries including oil & gas, power generation and water treatment. After 15 years of site work, gaining experience in installation, repair and commissioning of electric valve actuators, he joined Rotork’s training department, and for over 16 years has delivered training courses on electric actuators all over the world.

Classroom based training

Our one-day classroom-based courses will follow a similar format:

  • Offices open from 8.30am onwards
  • The course will start at 9.00am prompt
  • There will be a break for lunch, usually 12.30pm - 1.00pm
  • Each course will finish at 5.00pm at the latest

We provide a buffet lunch and would be grateful if you could inform us if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences on booking.

Course Materials

Full notes and course materials are supplied. Delegates will also receive a BVAA Manual specific to the course they attend.

Accessibility

Our training facility is on the first floor, with no wheelchair access. On both the ground floor and first floor we have an accessible toilet.
