GOVERNMENT RESPONDS TO BVAA ON NUCLEAR VALVES
Eight months after our initial challenge to Government over contracts signed between Areva and Neway for Chinese valves for use in UK-based Nuclear Power applications, we’ve finally received a response from the Minister for Energy & Industry.
It is however a politician’s response and thus largely deflective. Since it is a largely commercial matter, this was not entirely unexpected. Ditto the points he makes. However BVAA was keen to respond to a member’s concern over this matter and had it raised at the highest levels on that member’s behalf.
As we move into the Brexit era there will no doubt be need for further lobbying on members’ behalf and we will look to new ways and means for communicating such messages to those with the necessary power and influence.
